How can geographic health data help create a healthier Memphis?

The goal of this website is to provide easy access to data about health outcomes and environmental conditions and exposures which shape behaviors and access to resources and opportunities and have been shown to result in health disparities. It is our hope that these data can be used by community partners to identify problems and generate solutions which will lead to a healthier Memphis.

To address some of the limitations of the available data we also want to work with community groups to identify needs for additional data and develop strategies for collecting it, in collaboration with community groups, using a process we call “public participatory GIS.” interactive mapping website was developed by the Research Center on Health Disparities, Equity, & the Exposome (RHCDEE) at the UTHSC. The site uses Mappler© technology.
